About This Event
Hang out in the Garden on August 27th, for an evening of connection with agave—a resilient crop that may be one of the answers to a climate that’s becoming hotter and dryer. In partnership with The Agave Lab, an agave-centric educational farm project in San Diego County, spend an evening appreciating this ancestral plant through agave spirits, tortilla making, and tacos.
Get to know The Agave Lab throughout the night, along with Giver Spirits, a local California agave producer highlighting women farmers! Their focus is on inspiring innovation and building community around agave in the face of climate change. Led by Deanna Moore, The Agave Lab is exploring how ancestral knowledge, regenerative farming, and creativity can come together to shape a more resilient future. Agave has the potential to be a regenerative dryland crop, providing resources and materials for distilled spirits, textiles, surfboards, building materials, fuels, and medicine. Let’s celebrate resilient solutions and a local initiative!
